In a report prepared by Ownership Matters, the pay data for remuneration consultants is compiled and analysed, along with the regulatory regime that governs the disclosure of remuneration advice.

Key findings are as follows:

  • Nearly a third of companies in the S&P/ASX 200 disclosed the fees paid to remuneration consultants in FY12.
  • Of the companies that disclosed the fees paid to remuneration consultants, 23 paid more than $100,000 for remuneration consulting advice and seven paid more than $200,000.
  • In many cases, companies appear to pay substantial fees for publicly available data.
